School Meals

School Meals

This page covers meal time arrangements and will be very helpful for parents on low incomes and who need help with school meal services (i.e. Free School Meals).

Hot meals are provided by the Local Authority caterers, Nourish. Menus will be sent home by the school each term and meals will need to be ordered a week in advance (details of the ordering process and deadlines are sent with the menu and are available from the school office - please note that orders received after the deadline cannot be processed.) Hot meals can be ordered either for the whole term, a week at a time or for the days when it is more convenient for your child to have a hot meal. Your child still has the option to bring a packed lunch. We encourage healthy eating and have a Healthy Eating Policy (attached). Packed lunches must not contain glass bottles, fizzy drinks or sweets. Pure chocolate bars should not be included but chocolate biscuits e.g. Kit-Kats are acceptable. Spoons to eat yoghurt need to be provided from home.

Parents will be free to choose whether or not their child stays for lunch.

Free School Meals

Parents who are in receipt of Income Support and/or Income based Jobseekers’ Allowance should consult Mrs. Taylor, the school administrator, so that the children’s entitlement to free school meals may be arranged. Please note that if your child is entitled to Free School Meals, they will be provided with a hot meal. If you chose not to take up the entitlement, we can no longer provide a packed lunch option with the exception of an educational off-site visit, when a packed lunch will be ordered for your child. Thank you for your anticipated co-operation.
